Vernon Mansfield, Sr. Hopi Pueblo, Sun Clan, active ca. 1950s-present: traditional "Old Style" and action figure carvings, jewelry, sand paintings. Vernon lives in Shungopavi, Second Mesa, Az. Vernon Mansfield, Sr. is the husband of Daisy Mansfield; father of Vernon Mansfield, Jr. and Verden Mansfield. Vernon's sons have gone on to become successful silversmiths, but Vernon remains faithful to his traditional Katsina carving.
