From the Book:
A book of pencil sketches by artist Donald Mills executed in 1973 of scenes of the Four Corners area of the Southwest. The whole of the Four Corners Country is a place that equally defies the brush of the artist and the pen of the poet. All of it, not just New Mexico alone, is a land of enchantment—and this is hard to believe until one actually goes there. What mere mortal can portray, in any medium the sparkling colors of far-flung miles, the radiant beauty of the golden-blue sky, the majesty of sweeping red desert and soaring green mountains and marvelous piles of fleecy white clouds? Beside reality, the portrait is a dreary and innocuous representation; beside reality, the word—no matter how eloquent—is entirely inadequate. Come see for yourself.
Condition: as if new.
