Original Cover Art for book Zuni Fetishism [SOLD]

This painting by Don Eisenhour of a turquoise-encrusted pottery jar was commissioned by Avanyu Publishing Incorporated for the cover of the book reprint of Zuni Fetishism by Ruth F. Kirk. The book was published in 1988.

On a fetish jar, the serpent figures and the Mudhead would be carved from deer antler and tied to the exterior of the jar. The hole near the base would be used for feeding the fetishes residing inside the bowl.

A reprint copy of Zuni Fetishism is included with the purchase of the painting.
