Original Oil Painting titled “Old Tree” by New Mexico Artist Sina Brush

New Mexico-based painter and artist Sina Brush just had to paint this subject. This was very time sensitive in her mind. This painting of an old tree came about because the artist drove by this tree in Las Cruces, NM on numerous occasions and thought to herself, "I better paint this old tree before someone cuts it down." She painted it and sure enough someone cut the old tree down not too soon afterwards.

Brush captured the spectacular hues of the New Mexican sky in early spring perfectly.  Until one has the divine pleasure of experiencing such hues, they may not believe them to be real.  However, the colors in the sky around the old tree are no exception to the otherworldly experience of dawn or dusk in this part of the world.  In aged contrast to the ever-changing sky the old tree is represented in dark blues, breaking up the landscape with majesty.  Budding from its branch tips, fresh greens indicate the time of year with presence.  

The painting is signed in lower right and framed in a gold-painted wood frame.
