This is a painting by artist Ed Jojola from 1973, a time when he was painting a variety of subjects. Later, he primarily painted village scenes at Isleta Pueblo during various seasons of the year.
Here, he illustrated the importance to Pueblo peoples of the bounties provided by nature and their appreciation for such. This is demonstrated by decorating pottery with natural scenes of animals or other natural objects. Shipoyo no longer paints as he is incapicated and living in an assisted living facility.
This Native American painting is framed in a carved dark wood frame with a gold toned fabric mat.
Condition: The painting appears to be in original excellent condition.
Provenance: The painting was purchased in 1973 by a client of the artist and then was willed back to the artist following the death of the client. The purpose was for the artist to sell it again for his benefit. It is currently the property of the artist.
