This exquisite Zuni Pueblo mosaic pictorial bracelet was made by Gilbert Calavaza. The pictorial design is that of a pueblo village with adobe houses and a kiva. It appears that the design was assembled using Arizona jasper, jet, spondylus shell, turquoise, and mother of pearl. This amazing artist was born in 1967.
The silver foundation is substantial in weight, and the width of the bracelet provides ample area for the pueblo scene. At each end of the bracelet there are rectangles of spondylus shell, mother of pearl, turquoise, jasper, and jet. The major design of a pueblo village features charming adobe houses with visible vigas at roof level, doors, windows, chimneys enhanced with pottery jars, and stepladders protruding from the upper level.
