PAINTING EXHIBIT BY EARLY 20th CENTURY INDIAN ARTISTS

Adobe Gallery presents an exhibit of paintings by early 20th century Native artists—Pueblo, Navajo, Apache and others as part of its Indian Market extravaganza.  There are paintings in watercolor, casein, tempera, gouache and oil, and additionally there are sculptures in bronze and stone, and pottery vessels in clay and pigment.

A few of the early 20th century painters represented are Allan Houser, Joe Herrera, Quincy Tahoma, Harrison Begay, Beatien Yazz, Fred Kabotie, Jose Rey Toledo, Jose Encarnacion Pena, Romando Vigil, Julian Martinez, Tonita Pena and Guadalupito Sanchez.  A few of the mid- to late-20th century artists included in the exhibit are Bob Hazous, Tony Abeyta, Helen Hardin, J. D. Roybal, Tony Da, Maria Martinez, Helen Cordero and many others.

The exhibit opens on Friday evening, August 9th from 4 to 6 pm and continues through August 31st.
