Artist signature of Margarete Bagshaw (1964– 2015) Santa Clara PuebloMargarete Bagshaw was a painter who was descended from the Tewa people of K'apovi or the Kha'p'oo Owinge, Santa Clara Pueblo. Her mother was Helen Hardin, and her grandmother was Pablita Velarde, which places her within an important family of talented and influential women artists.

Margarete Bagshaw received much acclaim and recognition during her career. Her works and those of her ancestors remain incredibly popular among today's collectors.

Margarete Bagshaw (November 11, 1964 - March 19, 2015) passed away early in her life. Her daughter Helen Tindel continues the family tradition of artistic creation.
