The Hopi Salako Taka, as well as the Salako Mana, towers seven or eight feet tall, much like the Zuni Shalako that towers almost 10 feet tall. He is without shoulders and is tall and slender. The male (Taka) wears blue moccasins and the female (Mana) wears white ones. The two Salako Katsinas always appear in the company of Hahai-i Wuhti and the Tukwinong Katsinas. The elaborate tablitas and the tall size of these katsinas contribute to their overwhelming beauty.

Condition: The doll is in very good condition. There is no evidence of damage or repairs.

Provenance: From the estate of Transcendental artist Florence Pierce of Albuquerque who passed away in 2007 at the age of 89.
