The thunderbird motif has been a favorite of Southwestern Indian jewelers since the coming of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway to New Mexico in 1887. The Fred Harvey Company even used the thunderbird as its logo. Six little stamped thunderbirds fly across this square belt buckle along with arrows and scallop designs. There is a 1-1/8 inch opening that will easily accommodate a one inch belt. The piece is unsigned and in excellent condition.
