Corn Moquino is of Zia & Hopi heritage. He married into Santa Clara Pueblo and has been making Santa Clara style pottery since around 1963. He is one of the earlier potters to employ sgraffito style carving.

Moquino created one of his most spectacular designs in this jar. The traditional feather design encircles the entire upper neck area. The mis body is decorated beautifully with butterflies and flowers against a background of very fine sgraffito lines. Alternation triangles encircle the lower area of the body of the jar.

This is certainly one of his finest efforts.
