This Tablita decorated with the image of the Hopi Palhikmana Katsina is worn by a female during a dance following the Katsina dance season. The Tablita is covered with rain symbols, the rainbow on her chin being one. This was actually purchased by the owner in 1960 from the village of Shungopavi.
Generally, dance tablitas are made by male members of a family for use by a female family member.
