Turquoise is a magical stone because it comes in so many different color hues and so many arrangements of matrix. This turquoise cab has a beautiful dark matrix that floats on the blue turquoise cab as if islands in the ocean. The Diné artisan chose a plain silver platform on which to mount the turquoise. It was a wise choice as no amount of stamping or decorating was necessary and does not detract from the beautiful oval and domed stone. This is a modern masterpiece rendered in simple fashion.
Condition: this Beautiful Navajo Blue Turquoise Cabochon and Silver Ring is in very good condition
Provenance: from the estate of Frances Balcomb, of art gallery fame, passed through to a daughter, the present owner.
