Set in a sterling silver case, this gorgeous ring features highly pleasing Smoky Bisbee turquoise gemstones with dark blue turquoise with gold and black shades. The pair of gemstones are anchored in silver bezels and paired with a silver leaf and dots. The style of the ring is typical of the 1970s.
The silver leaf is carved in a way that compliments the gemstones and has grooved ridges of various shapes and sizes going along the perimeter. Still, in traditional Navajo style, the design is symmetrical.
Smoky Bisbee turquoise is a highly coveted and rare variety of turquoise from the Bisbee mining district in southeastern Arizona. It is famous for its vibrant, rich blue colors combined with a unique, smoky or webbed chocolate-brown to black matrix.
Underneath, the ring is stamped with the letter D and sterling. The maker remains unknown.
