The Hummingbird Design of the Quandelacy Family is distinctive. The design features a combination of fine silverwork used to create interwoven channels in which precisely shaped stones are inlaid. The effect is a sort of raised inlay. Ellen Quandelacy was the mother of Dickie Quandelacy. She was the first to use this design and taught Dickie. He in turn taught his wife, Amy. Although they no longer work together, the design has been used by both and other members of the family.

This ring, although unsigned, was made by someone in the family, most likely Dickey Quandelacy. The preciseness of the work makes one think it is by one of the original family members, either Dickey or his mother. The stones in the ring are fine turquoise.

The ring has been worn in a way that adds to the beauty. The patina and smoothness of the stones is something that only comes with age.

Condition: excellent condition

Provenance: from a family in Colorado
