Rose Dushkin Three-Piece Polychrome Nacimiento Cochiti Pueblo [SOLD]

No information has been published on the artisan, however this nacimiento exhibits the strong skill level of the artist, Rose Dushkin of Cochiti Pueblo.   Each figure features a cream slip with dark and light brown accents of natural pigments.  She expertly formed Mary and Joseph, who are both kneeling with eyes closed and mouths open in song or prayer.  Joseph’s hair is pulled back in a chongo and has a blanket draped over one shoulder.  Mary’s head is covered with a shawl, hands drawn before her in prayer over her infant son.   Jesus is fully swaddled and rests smiling in a cradle.

Condition: There is some abrasion to the dark brown slip on Joseph, and a very small amount to the light brown on baby Jesus.  This nacimiento is in good condition.
