Made with remarkable intricacy, these large Diné of the Navajo Nation earrings were wonderfully designed by Kee Yazzie. Each contains numerous symbols placed all around, showing Yazzie's thoughtfulness and high attention to detail. Some of the symbols included are hands, bears, crosses, arrowheads, and mountains, among others.

Symbols are especially important to the Diné people. Rooted deeply in tradition and history, each symbol represents something sacred. Perhaps this is how they have communicated for so many generations with those who have come after.

The backside of each earring is stamped KEE.

Kee Yazzie was born in Arizona in 1969 and went to college at Brigham Young University in Utah, studying architectural and drafting design. He is of Navajo and Hopi descent and is a self-taught artist who has been making jewelry since 1995. He has won awards from Eight Northern Pueblo, the Navajo Market at the Museum of Northern Arizona, the Heard Museum, in addition to many others. Interestingly, he also speaks multiple languages, including Laotian, Thai, and Khmer.
