The Diné of the Navajo Nation artist began this bolo tie by shaping an oval piece of sterling silver as the base.  Three strikingly bright blue pieces of nugget turquoise were selected and placed down the central line of the bolo tightly in bezels formed to hug the turquoise’s natural shapes.  Behind this, the artist texturized the silver.

Silver appliqué leaves reach like wings protectively around the gemstones.  Three silver swirls ornament below the bottom most piece of turquoise and around the top stone as well.  The edge is stamped with repeating eye shapes, linked to frame the bolo entirely.  The braided leather has been clamped with one and a half inch long conical silver cones, one on each end.

Condition: This bolo tie is in very good condition

Provenance: This Silver Appliqué Navajo Bolo Tie with Three Turquoise Nuggets is from an estate in eastern Washington.
