Hopi jeweler Weaver Selina began his career in 1967 working and studying at the Hopicrafts shop, learning from Bernard Dawahoya and other experienced jewelers. He is from the village of Shungopavi at Second Mesa and now has his own outlet where he sells his creations and those of other Hopi artists.

This buckle was made in the traditional Hopi silver overlay style.  There is a large bear paw design that dominates the face of the buckle and a smaller bear paw design superimposed over the larger one.  The background is an oxidized plate of very fine lines.
