The traditional Diné practice of using fine silverwork to accent the beauty of a singular stone is evident in these lovely teardrop-shape earrings. A skilled silversmith set a blue-green turquoise cabochon in a finely made sawtooth bezel that is placed on an elegant sterling silver frame. The pendant dangles from a handmade French hook that is fronted by a small piece of turquoise and a stamped silver drop. The earrings from the Navajo Nation date to the mid-20th Century.

Condition: The earrings are in excellent condition. The turquoise is set in securely.

Provenance:  The Teardrop Turquoise Cabochon Dangle Earrings come from a gentleman Southwest Indian Jewelry collector in Colorado.

Note: when we say Diné, as opposed to Navaho or Navajo, we are referring to the people and not the government.  Since 1969, their government refers to itself as the Navajo Nation.
