This Zuni Pueblo silver bracelet with a single row of turquoise is very traditional. It has been made since the early 1920s as a lure to travelers to the Southwest. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear. Often, women will group several of the thinner bracelets to be worn together. The small turquoise cabs vary in color from dark to light blue: a not uncommon mixture in older turquoise jewelry. Various turquoise gemstones absorb hand oil differently and it is the oil which darkens blue turquoise to a green tone.
