Barbara BartelsBarbara Bartels was born and raised in the Texas panhandle. “I remember amber wheat fields swaying to the music of the wind and puffy white clouds flowing in the lazy summer skies.” She loved art from the very beginning of her life, remembering patterns on the bathroom floor (at age three) and the way sunlight danced through “Lucky Charm Suckers.” She was out drawing “barns” on her Dad's business cards at age four. The year of her high school graduation her family moved to the beautiful Pikes Peak region of Colorado Springs and she remained there for thirty years.

Barbara married, and shared her love of art with her family of five wonderful children. Although she is interested in all kinds of “art,” Barbara didn't start oil painting until 1980. She is now considered a Master Instructor, teaching workshops for the Art Student League in Colorado and private schools/classes all over the country. In 1994 Barbara opened the Bartels Art Class Studio where she taught as many as 70 students per week. The Studio was considered to be the most successful Art School in southern Colorado—with just one instructor.
