Paul J. Goodbear (1913-1954) Chief Flying Eagle, Cheyenne.  Served in the U.S. Army, WWII. Paul has had other occupation such as a dancer, singer, teacher, professional boxer, and even a department store clerk. At one time he worked for the School of American Research and the Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe.

"Goodbear spent his childhood in Oklahoma where he attended public elementary and high schools. Many of his illustrations and paintings have been reproduced in school books." Snodgrass 1968

 

His paintings were described by J.J. Brody in 1971 as having "overtones of Futurism and a refinement of the Kiowa style."
