+ Add Artist to My Preferences
Debra Trujillo Duwyenie of Santa Clara Pueblo is collectible Southwest Indian Pottery artist. Her miniature style, stone polishing and fine sgraffito work are amazing.
Debra Trujillo (1955- ) is a niece of Minnie Vigil, Lois Gutierrez, Goldenrod Garcia, and Thelma Talachy, as her father was their brother. Her mother was Genevieve Gutierrez and her grandmother was Petra Gutierrez.
Debra Trujillo started collaborating with Harvey Chavarria in the early 1980s, until his death in 1991. An example of this collaborative signature is to the right (Debra - Harvey).
Five and half years after Harvey's death, Debra Trujillo married Preston Duwyenie and took his last name. They began collaborating pottery together which are usually the smaller seed pots. Preston also makes pottery by himself but it's usually the bigger pottery.
