John Suazo was born at Taos Pueblo. He has been a full-time sculpture since 1974.Suazo attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque; the Navajo Community College in Tsaile, Arizona and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For over thirty years John Suazo has created stone sculptures. John Suazo's work is characterized by simplifying forms, mainly figurative human beings, birds and mammals. These subjects all relate to his cultural traditions.
