Lester Quanimptewa, Hopi Pueblo, active ca. 1978-present: Katsina carvings. Lester is the husband of Carol Quanimptewa; father of two girls; stepfather of Jimson Lalo; related to Fernanda Honanie; perhaps related to the elder Lester Quanimptewa and daughter Mary Quanimptewa.
Lester Quanimptewa is unique in carving three different styles simultaneously: traditional "Old Style," one-piece, and sculptures. His artistic ability was recognized and honored when he won Best of Show and a mountain of other awards. Lester is also a wonderful teacher and mentor. He teaches young carvers the tradition.
