Rickey was Hopi by birth and she is referred to as Ant Woman.  Her hallmark used on pottery is a flying ant.Hopi Pueblo artist Marcia Rickey was known as Ant Woman. She often made black and white on red bowls, black on white black and red on yellow jars and cookie jars.

Marcia Rickey was an active potter approximately 1950-1990. Ant Woman is from the village of Walpi on First Mesa. Most potters on the Hopi mesas are of Tewa origin and referred to as Hopi-Tewa; however, there are some potters at the village of Walpi on First Mesa who are of Hopi origin.

Marcia Rickey (1918-1991) was also known as Marcia Fritz was Hopi by birth. She was referred to as Ant Woman and her hallmark used on pottery was a flying ant.
