Marie Juanico - Acoma Pueblo, learned the skill of pottery making from her talented mother, Delores Sanchez, who lived to the age of 103. Marie was born in 1937 at Acoma Pueblo into the Yellow Corn Clan. She is the daughter of Toribio and Delores Sanchez. Dolores Sanchez (mother) was a very highly regarded potter at Acoma Pueblo and was considered one of the best potters at the time.
Marie began producing pottery in her early 20s. In the year 2000, Marie took 3rd Place at Indian Market here in Santa Fe for her pottery. She has also won awards at the New Mexico State Fair and the Inter-Tribal Ceremonial in Gallup. Her pottery is shown at galleries in Santa Fe and throughout the state, as well as at the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C.
