Richard Pentewa Hopi Pueblo, active ca. 1940s - 1996+; Carvings, paintings. Richard Pentewa and his ten brothers and sisters grew up watching their father, Otto Pentewa, painting scenes of Katsina dancers and carving Hopi Katsina doll. In 1964, Dick began signing some of his Katsina dolls. In that year, he won two 1st and one 2nd place ribbons at the Hopi Show sponsored by the Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff. He won many more awards over his long and distinguished career as a fine artist.
