Virginia Aparicio, Mexico City Artist

+ Add Artist to My Preferences

Virginia Aparicio is a sculptor from Mexico City. She uses clay to model what will result in the peak of her manual labor. She then forms a mold, with the traditional use of running wax, after that, the casting.

More important than the process is the sensuous result of her work. At first, one sees a comparison with the sculptural figures of Francisco Zuñiga.  It is no wonder because she studied under Zuñiga during his final year of teaching.
