Ben Adair Shoemaker (Quapaw/Shawnee/Cherokee) has been a full-time artist since 1978.  He is from Oklahoma and attended High School in Tulsa, the University of Tulsa and Tulsa Junior College.  His accolades exceed our space for listing as do the numerous exhibits of his paintings.  He was published in The Tulsa World in 1983, The Tulsa Tribune in 1987, and Muskogee Daily Phoenix in 1993.  He was designated a Master Artist in 1986 by the Five Civilized Tribes Museum, Muskogee, Oklahoma.

His paintings are in the public collections of the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma; the Thomas Gilcrease Institute of American History and Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the Heritage Center Inc. Collection, Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota; and the Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
