Artist Hallmark of a half sun - Clifton Mowa (Hopi Pueblo) Sun Forehead ClanAccording to Greg Schaaf’s book American Indian Jewelry I: 1,200 Artist Biographies, Hopi Pueblo artist Clifton Mowa has been actively making jewelry since the 1980s. He learned the craft at the Hopi Silvercraft Cooperative Guild.  He belonged to the Sun Forehead Clan and resided in the Hopi village of Shungopavi in Arizona.  His hallmark is a half sun symbol.
