Phyllis Nez is an accomplished Diné (Navajo) potter currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the 1990s, Nez broadened her artistic scope under the mentorship of celebrated Cochiti Pueblo potter Felicita Eustace, mastering traditional Pueblo clay techniques and firing methods. Today, she synthesizes these rich traditions in her fine art practice, creating expressive, hand-crafted storyteller figurines that honor both her Navajo heritage and Cochiti pottery influences.
