GUSTAV STICKLEY—HIS CRAFT

by A. Patricia Bartinique

The Craftsman Farms Foundation, Parsippany, New Jersey

Exhibition Dates: November 15, 1992 - January 17, 1993

Softcover, first edition, 120 pages filled with examples of Stickley’s works

Gustav Stickley—His Craft was assembled to examine and study the extensive variety of Gustav Stickley’s work.  He delved into all aspects of life as he saw it emanating from the philosophy of the American Arts and Crafts Movement.   He looked with a unified vision that represented the American potential and he dreamed of the fulfillment of his vision.  Furniture, metal, textiles, houses, accessories—the individual’s entire environment—were seen as affecting the growing, evolving being.  No aspect of the person’s experience could be ignored.
