From the cover of Dirt for Making Things: Janet Stoeppelmann has had several short stories, poems, and articles published, but Dirt for Making Things is her first book. She moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, sixteen years ago from Florida, and became a music instructor. She was introduced to Mary Fernald when both were teaching courses about the Southwest; their friendship eventually led them to the production of this book. Janet lives in Scottsdale with her husband and a yard full of wild birds.
