Stewart Peckham’s association with the Museum of New Mexico’s Laboratory of Anthropology, spanned more than thirty-one years (1954-1986) as archaeologist, curator of collections, associate director and State Archaeologist.  Involved in over one hundred archaeological survey and excavation projects throughout New Mexico during that period, he developed a broad interest in prehistoric and historic ceramics, as well as other aspects of the almost two thousand years of Pueblo Indian culture in New Mexico.
