Max Evans

Max Evans was born in Ropes, Texas.  Before the age of twelve, he went to work on a cattle ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico, and within a few years had his own ranch in Union County.  After combat duty in World War II, Evans returned to his ranch, selling it a few years later to pursue a career as an artist in Taos.
