From the Slip Cover

“Of God and Mortal Men conveys the artistic genius of T.C. Cannon (1946-1978) through his most iconic paintings, and essays that offer a fresh look at Cannon’s work beyond the confines of American Indian art.  This book features nine major canvasses from the Nancy and Richard Bloch Collection, representing the finest of Cannon’s artwork anywhere. Also included are important pieces in the Heard Museum’s collections—a canvas, lithographs, and woodblock prints—and paintings from the New Mexico Museum of Art permanent collections.  Added to this are sketches and poetry from one of Cannon’s student sketch books as well as poetry selections from My Determined Eye, a compilation of Cannon’s writings edited by his sister Joyce Cannin Yi.”
