PUEBLO CRAFTSMEN - Americana from Hammermill Papers Group
This is not a book but is a portfolio of Pueblo craftsmen selected by Hammermill to illustrate its capability of printing on a selected paper. The company selected artists from New Mexico pueblos and published a full page on each of the artists, using front and back of each page. The front page features a photograph and short biography of the artist, and the flip side features items made by the artist.
There were eighth artists selected—Stella Teller of Isleta, Andy Kirk of Isleta, Jerry Chavez of Sandia, Bernard Gachupin of Zia, Ramos Chavez of Santo Domingo, Guadalupe Ortiz of Cochiti, and Ralph Suazo of Taos. The sheet for Stella Teller appears to have had a piece of masking tape applied on the lower left corner of the page. All the others are in original condition.
The portfolio is in very good condition. The mailing envelope exhibits significant wear patterns.
