Mary Juan - Maricopa Reservation, Mary Juan who was one of the most famous of all the Maricopa Indian potters and a original member of the Maricopa Pottery Cooperative and was one of the main Revival Period artists 1937-41, but continued to create pottery until the 1960s. Mary Juan made fine pottery for many of her 85 years and was known for the finely polished deep red slip, graceful shapes and fine painted designs. Mary Juan's cousin Ida Redbird was also well known potter.
