Picture of George Pooley of Hopi PuebloGeorge Pooley, Hopi/Diné (Navajo), active 1970s-2009: Katsnia carvings, miniatures. George lived in Hotevilla, Third Mesa, AZ. He was the grandson of Poliveama; son of Clara and Emil Pooley; husband and father of two daughters.
George Pooley learned to carve from his father, Emil Pooley.

George has carved hundreds of traditional Hopi Katsina dolls in his career. His "Route 66" style miniatures are popular as Christmas tree ornaments.
