John Gonzales San Ildefonso Pueblo, grandson of Ramona Sanchez Gonzales and Juan Gonzales; m grandson of Ernest Naquayoma (Hopi Pueblo) and Lillian Lowry; grandson of Louis and Juanita Gonzales (who adopted Lorenzo); son of Lorenzo Gonzales and Delores Naquayoma; nephew of Blue Corn; brother of Robert Gonzales, Raymond Gonzales, Larencita Gonzales Torres, Mareie Ann Gonzales Kailahi, (formerly Peña), Jeanne Gonzales, Linda Gonzales. John has won numerous awards since 1992.
John Gonzales has a most impressive background. He earned scholarships that allowed him to obtain a B.A. at Stanford University and a Masters at MIT. At age 32 he served as President of the National Congress of American Indians, the youngest ever to hold that position and the only Pueblo Indian to do so.
