Mitchell Sockyma (Corn Clan) Hopi Pueblo

Mitchell Sockyma was born at Hotevilla, Hopi Pueblo, Arizona.  He learned to make jewelry at the Hopi Arts and Crafts Guild. He has been making jewelry since the mid-1970s. His work is in the collection of the Peabody Museum at Harvard University and he has been featured in numerous publications including American Indian Art Magazine (Autumn 1996; Winter 1996). Mitchell Sockyma signs artwork with hallmark of a turtle.
