The popularity of spoon collecting in the early 20th Century prompted many manufacturing companies to make souvenir spoons reflecting the area being visited by tourists. For the Southwest traveler, Navajo-inspired spoons were popular. This spoon, made by the Warren Mansfield Company in the early 20th Century, was to create an impression that it was made by a Navajo. The full-length profile on the handle of a Plains Indian with a spear, and the bow and two arrows and Whirling log in the bowl, were standard designs produced in 1905-1906 period.
