SHIRPOYO has made it easy for one to visualize the peace and tranquility as evening descends on the small pueblo of Isleta. He has captured the brilliance of the sunset as those of us in New Mexico witness it often.
A native of Isleta Pueblo strolls through the village in late afternoon, wrapped in a colorful blanket. The colorful clothing worn by the woman stands out against the adobe buildings. The clouds are bathed in yellow and orange as sunset approaches.
The cottonwood trees with their leaves already fallen, signify that it must be autumn or early winter, and the beautiful clouds changing colors as we watch, make a visual statement that few artists capture. Signed Shirpoyo and with his hallmark, dated 5/10. The painting is framed by the artist.
