Jojola painted this in 1994 and it was purchased directly from him by a client of his living in Colorado. The client has now passed away and his son has asked us to sell the painting from his dad’s estate and send the money to Jojola as a gift from his dad’s estate.

The painting is really an extraordinary view of a house compound at Isleta Pueblo. As is typical, it looks like the house has had an addition that changed the layout from a single rectangular shape to an L-shape, as indicated by different colors of the adobe walls. To the right of the house is a kiva, designated by its round shape and the stepladder entering from the roof. A double horno sits at the front center of the painting.

The painted scene is one so familiar to anyone who has ever visited Isleta Pueblo. Jojola has painted the scene true to reality. It is in original excellent condition and is signed and dated in lower right. It is in the original wood frame provided by the artist.
