Hand Carved Wood Cristo Redeemer Figure [R]

This wood figure of Christ the Redeemer appears to be of twentieth-century age with commercial paint.  The upper arms are constructed of fabric to permit the arms to be moved in position.  The base color is cream with red and blue designs.

Condition: this Hand Carved Wood Cristo Redeemer Figure is structurally in very good condition with some paint abrasions

Provenance: this figure of Christ the Redeemer was purchased from Pachamama Gallery of Santa Fe in 2011, without documentation as to its age.  The owner of the gallery made purchases on annual trips to South and Central America.  A selection of religious figures was purchased by us for display in our rental house on Garcia Street.  The house has recently been sold, so the art objects will now be posted for sale.
