This Hopi bowl, decorated on its interior with brown pigment, has a repeat image design.  The design is divided in the middle of the bowl with a pair of parallel lines, on either side of which is a design, repeated but placed in opposite directions.  Each of the two designs feature what could be a long curved beak of an eagle morphing into tail feathers, a triangle eye, stippling for face feathers and a rectangular design that may represent the body of the bird.  This long curved beak was derived from a design at Zuni Pueblo known at The Rain Bird design.  Hopi and other pueblos adopted it, modified it, and still use it today.

Condition: very good condition with one minor slip crack on rim.
