This is a highly unique ladle made by an unknown potter of Hopi Pueblo. It contains a fox head design carved and painted on the tip of the handle, which is something not often seen on Hopi ladles. Foxes are known for their cleverness, focus, intelligence, and wisdom. They are revered by many Native American tribes, including the Hopis.

The bowl of the ladle features a customary Hopi design, one which would likely be seen on other Hopi pottery like seed jars or bowls. The color of the ladle is a light tan that has an almost orange tint to it, very common among Hopi clay.

This is a beautiful piece which isn't seen every day. It would make a fantastic addition to any Hopi enthusiast or collector.
