Once Known Native American Potter

This beautiful symmetrically shaped pottery tile was made by a potter of the Hopi Mesas, but it is not signed with the artist's name so her or his exceptional talent will be rewarded with appreciation without giving credit to the artist by name.

The design is divided into nine panels, with a checkerboard at the center. Surrounding the checkerboard are four designs, each displayed twice. The black pigment by which the designs were precisely applied has a matte finish. The background orange was polished.

Condition: very good condition

Provenance: this Hopi Pueblo Monochromatic Pottery Circular Tile is from the collection of a client of Adobe Gallery
